(NEWSER) – The shopping season set off by Black Friday bleeds into Cyber Monday, and various sites are keeping an eye out for the best deals. In its analysis, DealNews finds that Cyber Monday is generally better for shoppers in four categories: laptops, small kitchen appliances, shoes, and travel deals. "It's particularly a great time to book hotel stays, vacation packages, and flights," writes Julie Ramhold. A sampling of guides out there:
- Big TVs: Kinja has a comprehensive list in various categories. In tech, its "showstopper" is Samsung’s 49-inch curved, HDR, Quantum Dot-powered display for $1,000 on Amazon, a savings of $200.
- Travel: Conde Nast Traveler focuses in on travel bargains, from hotels to safaris to cruises. On the latter, it finds that "Princess Cruises will take up to $1,000 off per stateroom, plus reduced fares for the third and fourth guests." Customers also get 50% off booking deposits on Cyber Monday.
- Tech to DNA: The Daily Dot breaks things into categories, with a $300 savings on Apple MacBooks (on sale for $999.99) and HP printers under $50 among the electronics deals. But it also spies $25 off an AncestryDNA testing kit, bringing the price down to $54.99.
- Clothing retailers: USA Today focuses on clothing retailers. The Gap, for instance, is offering 50% off everything, with free shipping.
- Home and kitchen: Business Insider rounds up home and kitchen deals. Its "best site-wide sale" goes to retailer Parachute, and getting a "best kitchen gadget deal" is Macy's for a $17.99 Pyrex set that normally sells for $79. A rebate is involved.
- Echo sale: Forbes has a ranking of best buys, beginning with the Amazon Echo Plus for $119.99, $30 off. "A great deal on a very popular product that is making its debut this holiday season."
- Smartphones: ArsTechnica has a comprehensive list of tech deals, including savings of about $150 on Samsung Galaxy phones of various kinds. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 64GB 6.3-inch Unlocked Smartphone is $799.99 at Amazon, down from $949.99.
- TVs at Best Buy: Money likes the TV deals at Best Buy, including a 43-inch Sharp 4K Ultra HD TV for $299.99, down from $429.99.
