Movie Preview - Gods not Dead 2

I am looking forward to this one. I still need to see the first one before Friday though so I am not lost. The stars of this film are:

Free Up Space

How to Free Up Space Used By Your iPhone or iPad’s Messages App

If you send and receive a lot of messages, the Messages app can take up a lot of space on your iPhone or iPad. Not only does it store your message history, it keeps photo attachments you’ve received. All this data then takes up iCloud space as part of your backups, too.

Messages normally keeps messages and image attachments you’ve received over SMS or iMessage forever, unless you delete them manually. It may also keep audio and video messages around, depending on how you’ve configured it. By default, it quickly deletes audio and video to free up space.

See How Much Space the Messages App is Using

You can check how much space the Messages app is using on your device from the Storage screen. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and head to General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage. Scroll down in the list and look for the Messages app. You’ll see how much on-device storage is used by your saved messages.

Automatically Delete Old Messages, Audio, and Video Files

To prevent messages from building up forever and taking up a larger and larger amount of space, you can set all messages to expire after a certain period of time. The Messages app will automatically delete them when they’re old enough.

Bear in mind that any messages deleted will be gone forever. If you want to keep a record of your messages–or keep certain messages forever–you won’t want to automatically delete messages. You may want to delete them manually instead.

To change this setting, open the Settings app and tap “Messages.” Tap the “Keep Messages” option under Message History and choose an expiry period. By default, your iPhone or iPad will keep messages “Forever,” but you can choose to keep them for “30 Days” or “1 Year” if you prefer.

By default, Messages will automatically delete audio and video messages two minutes after you listen to or watch them. This prevents those large audio and video files from taking up space forever. Be sure to confirm the “Expire” options under “Audio Messages” and “Video Messages” are set to “After 2 Minutes” and not “Never”, or they’ll be kept forever and drain storage space until you manually delete them.

Bulk Delete Attachments

You can delete an individual image in a conversation thread by long-pressing it, tapping “More,” selecting the messages you want to delete, and tapping the trash can. But this is the slowest way to do this, and you’ll have to hunt through your conversations to find all those images.

Use the Attachments view to see all the image attachments in a thread at once. To do this, open a conversation and tap the “Details” link at the top-right corner. You’ll see an Attachments list at the bottom of this screen containing any attached images.

To delete an image from here, long-press it and select “Delete.” To delete multiple images, long-press an image and select “More.” You can then tap multiple images to select them and tap the trash can to delete the images all at once. This is a much faster solution than hunting through a conversation to find all the individual attachments.

If you want to save the images, you can tap the “Save Images” option at the bottom of the Attachments view. They’ll be saved to your photo gallery. You can then copy them to your computer, sync them to a photo-storage service like Google Photos, or upload them to a file storage service like Dropbox. You’ll then be able to delete them remove them from both the Messages app and the Photos app, and you’ll still have the copy you placed elsewhere.

Delete Entire Conversation Threads

If Messages is using a lot of space, image attachments are likely to blame, so simply deleting text conversations may not help enough. However, if you have long conversations full of text messages, they might take up quite a bit of space. You can delete them and free up that space, assuming you don’t want to keep those conversations and look at them in the future.

You can delete a thread by swiping left on it and tapping “Delete.” This will delete all messages in the thread and any attachments.

To bulk delete multiple conversation threads at once, tap the “Edit” button on the main screen and select multiple conversations. Tap “Delete” at the bottom-right corner of the screen to delete them.

The network that brought the world the Duggars, the Gosselins and Honey Boo Boo is now going into business with Tyler Perry.

In news first reported by the Hollywood Reporter, TLC has ordered eight episodes of a drama to be written, directed and executive produced by the prolific Perry and slated to air in the second half of 2016.

With a working title of "Too Close to Home," the series will follow a young woman whose successful political career is derailed by an affair with a married senator that forces her to return to her "trailer park beginnings."

TLC is the latest cable outlet primarily known for its reality fare to dabble in scripted series, following sister network Discovery Channel, History, National Geographic and A&E, among others.

Though it's best known for unscripted shows about little people, polygamists and psychics with questionable hairdos, TLC may be eager to diversify its programming, particularly coming after a scandal-plagued period in which two of the network's most popular shows, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" and "19 Kids and Counting," were canceled amid sexual abuse allegations.

Multihyphenate Perry has been known to work miracles, helping reverse the fortunes of Oprah Winfrey's once-floundering OWN Network with successful shows like "The Haves and the Have Nots" and "If Loving You is Wrong."

Creating Compassionate Families Day 4

Jesus Loves the Little Children

Big Idea: God has a plan and a purpose for each child.

Let the children come to me. And with those words, Jesus ushered in a whole new way of thinking! Jesus loves your children — and all the children of the world.
In a world where children in poverty often believe they don’t matter, it is crucial to remind our kids that children can help other children know they are treasured by God.

The Encouragement Game

We don’t have to wait until we’re grown up to use our talents and skills. But often, children who live in poverty believe lies like “No one loves you” or “You will never do anything good.”
This game is a way to spend a few minutes telling one another that God loves you and that you can use the strengths God has given them, no matter what your age.
  • Take turns completing this sentence: You are really good at ________________ and I can imagine God made you to _____________. (Example: “You are really good at talking and I can imagine God made you to be a teacher.”)
  • After you have encouraged everyone playing, complete the sentence about a child you know who may be struggling. If you know any children in poverty or sponsor a child, pray that they will know God loves them and that they do matter.
  • Talk about how God doesn’t wait until you are a grown-up to give you ways you can help others.

Jesus Loves Us Banner

SUPPLIES
  • Construction paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Cut out two to three hearts from your construction paper. On each heart, have your children write a way God has shown His love.
  2. On some of the hearts, write the names of children who may have a difficult time seeing God’s love because of hard things going on in their lives — you might hang a heart for Elisabeth or maybe a friend or a family member in need. These names will serve as a reminder to pray for those children.
  3. Punch a hole on each side of the hearts, and string them together with the yarn. Hang the banner in a prominent place, maybe even from the light above your dinner table so you see it every meal.
  4. Encourage your children to add hearts when God shows His love or brings another child in need to mind.

Jesus' Teaching about Divorce
1Getting up, He went from there to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan; crowds gathered around Him again, and, according to His custom, He once more began to teach them.
2Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife. 3And He answered and said to them, "What did Moses command you?" 4They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send heraway." 5But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6But from the beginning of creation, Godmade them male and female. 7For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, 8and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
10In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again.11And He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; 12and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery."
Jesus Blesses Little Children
13And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all." 16And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.
The Rich Young Ruler
17As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 18And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19You know the commandments, 'Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.'" 20And he said to Him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up." 21Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 22But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, "How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!" 24The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them,"Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26They were even more astonished and said to Him, "Then who can be saved?" 27Looking at them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God."
28Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You." 29Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, 30but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last, first."
Jesus' Sufferings Foretold
32They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him, 33saying, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles. 34They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again."
35James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying, "Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You."36And He said to them, "What do you want Me to do for you?" 37They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Yourleft, in Your glory." 38But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" 39They said to Him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized. 40But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared."
41Hearing this, the ten began to feel indignant with James and John.42Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, "You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. 43But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; 44and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Bartimaeus Receives His Sight
46Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. 47When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49And Jesus stopped and said, "Call him here." So they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you." 50Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. 51And answering him, Jesus said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And the blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!" 52And Jesus said to him,"Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight andbegan following Him on the road.

Daily Devotional

READ Luke 8:22-25
One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marvelled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”
And that’s where the story we know ends…
But aren’t they still in the middle of a lake???????
Wasn’t the ultimate goal the other side?
Thanks for calming the storm Jesus, but why don’t you create a YAMAHA 200 Horse power engine to move us along to the other side.
The word of God says that in our struggles he will provide a peace that passes all understanding… not a quick pass to the destination of our choosing.  That’s just plain frustrating isn’t it???
Your storm is real, and so is mine…. So we cry out to Jesus and say “Lord we’re going to die… HELP!” Every time we cry out for the Lord He is sure to meet us where we are.  Jesus is with us and is faithful to calm the storm that is raging around us. The thing that bugs me is that, interestingly enough, though Jesus calms the storm, He doesn’t always sail us on to dry land.  There is always more work to do after the storm to get to the place we want to go.  They had a goal, to get to the other side of the lake, and then encountered a MAJOR obstacle. They cried out to Jesus and he calmed the storm and they knew that God was with them!!!  Likewise… through the word of God and prayer… peace does come…. Even though absolute resolution may still require some the patience that only a sailor could understand as he slowly approaches the distant horizon.
Wherever you may be let me encourage you to cry out to God in your difficulty… and be aware that He’s promised is that He will be with us.   Don’t forget, however, that there is still much work to do though the Savior is with us. His presence is what we need… because to walk the path alone is too much for anyone to bear.  To walk it with our savior is peace… no matter where the path may lead.  So may you ever trust in the presence of Jesus, and always keep moving to the horizon. Don’t forget who’s you are…. You are HIS.
Finally, let me remind you who you are:
You are LOVED, you are WORTHY, and you are ENOUGH.  The cross of Calvary proves it true.

Thursday's Inspiration

Morning Inspiration with Pastor Merritt
Dr. Luke evidently was very interested in the law and in legally defending the resurrection, because he says in Acts 1:3,
"To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many convincing proofs…" (Acts 1:3)
There is one word for the two English words "convincing proofs" that literally means "a sure sign." It comes from a legal term that refers to conclusive evidence that would hold up in a court of law. Just like Dr. Luke did two-thousand years ago, let's explore some of the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Resurrection is either the greatest fact or the greatest farce in human history. Two billion people in the world today have staked their eternal destiny and their entire lives on this one truth that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. Yet for four billion other people in the world the jury is still out.
There were a tremendous number of different people who were willing to bear witness they had seen Jesus Christ alive. In fact, when you put all the scriptures together, we are told that Jesus appeared on 10 different occasions over a period of 6 weeks to at least 516 witnesses. He appeared in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening. He appeared indoors. He appeared outdoors. Now when you stop to think that if each of these witnesses was brought into a courtroom and assumed the witness stand and testified for only 30 minutes each about what they had seen and heard and experienced, you would have over 250 hours of testimony. Can you imagine the verdict of the jury if over 500 witnesses testified to the same thing, corroborating one another 500 different times?
May I also remind you that many of these witnesses sealed their testimony with their own blood? They suffered torture. They were beheaded. They were imprisoned. They were crucified.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ means that when I come to that own time when my life is coming to an end and I am about to breath my last, when I have seen my last sunrise and enjoyed my last sunset I can say,
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (I Corinthians 15:55)
You cannot receive eternal life and you cannot go to heaven unless (a) Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and (b) You believe He was and receive Him as your Lord. Romans 10:9 says,
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
After exploring some of the evidence, you have to make a decision. Who are you going to invest your hope in for eternal life? The evidence screams out at us that Jesus Christ told the truth when He said in John 11:25,
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.” (John 11:25)
Evidence demands a verdict. Now you need to decide not only whether or not the evidence is true, but what are you going to do about it?
Share these thoughts with a friend. Give them the gift of God’s inspiration.
