Your Credit Score

Your Date Cares a Lot About Your Credit Score
That number is a window into character and behavior
By Elizabeth Armstrong Moore,  Newser Staff

Many people rank financial responsibility above attractiveness.   (Getty Images / jhorrocks)

(NEWSER) – It may not sound romantic, but dating apps are offering researchers great insights into what most people tend to want in prospective partners. And multiple consumer surveys and academic studies have recently found that, at least when it comes to looking for a prospective partner, one's credit score is hugely important, reports Bloomberg. One new survey from the parent of dating sites like Tinder finds that 69% of 2,000 online daters surveyed rank financial stability as very or extremely important, putting it slightly ahead of humor (67%) and well ahead of attractiveness (51%), ambition (50%), courage (42%), and modesty (39%), per a press release.
"If you’ve got a pretty good credit score, you probably have other good personality traits," says Helen Fisher, a researcher at the Kinsey Institute and Match.com's chief scientific advisor. That single number can speak to how responsible and dependable a person is. Fisher goes so far as to call it an "honest indicator of who you really are" that is a "Darwinian mechanism for measuring your reproductive ability." Sure enough, another study finds that people with better credit are better at maintaining relationships, and that the further apart a couple's credit scores are, the greater their chances of separating. So if your score is good, consider flaunting it—most people appear to consider modesty overrated, anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving

Good morning everyone, I just want to say I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Remember those that do not have a home to be in or someone to make a meal for them. Remember those that are overseas serving and away from their families, friends and relatives on this holiday. No matter what you believe about this holiday it is a day that America has set aside for giving thanks for all we have. Remember there are many out there and around the world that do not have what others have. It could be as simple as a hot meal to something bigger as a place to live. So take care, have a great day and enjoy it to the fullest, for some reason it only happens once or twice (Christmas) a year when it should happen everyday.

Thank you all for reading my posts and keeping my blog going. In the near future I plan to write more instead of just posting articles. Thank you again and have a blessed day all!!

Verse of the Day

Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

My Thought for Today

Sorry this is late, 4th of July weekend with the family;

We all went to Long Beach on Sun. We wanted to go jet skiing but unfortunately we got there a little late and there was not enough time for everyone to ride. It takes around 15 min just to get out of the harbor and into the area where you can go full speed. Which sucked big time since we were late we didn't have but 15-20 min of actual time out on the ocean. The rest of it (30 mins) was spent riding back and forth to parking in the bay area. It was fun non-the-less. Then we walked around the shops which was nice. My mom like the Its Purple store where everything was in some form of purple color. Then we checked out a pirates like place where I saw these. Would you wear them on the beach??

After that we tried to go to the regular part of the beach. Unfortunately the parking for the beaches are so limited and small its totally ridiculous. I found a spot but my parents could not so we ended up leaving and going home since we were all tired and hungry. My parents picked up some KFC along the way and we ate, talked, played games and watched a movie (my family are movie buffs by the way lol)

Now onto Monday the 4th. Most of us slept in because we were up late the night before watching different movies. My parents came over early though and took my niece and went to the beach, or at least tried. They were in line to get to the parking lot for the beach for over an hour and we live a 10 minute walk from it. So that fell through and we all decided to get lunch since it was that time already. Well I can say that we had a good time at the annual 4th celebration at Ft Mac (base housing). It was wonderful. The day started out really slow. The festivities didn't actually start until 4p. So we had family time together, talked, watched a movie, had pizza, etc. My mom, son, his girlfriend, and my niece all took a walk down to the beach around 2, 230p. By the time they got back things were starting up. We each walked over at our own time since the food did not start until 5p. That's ok because there were plenty of things to do. Of course my mom wanted pics of everyone so we stopped by the photo booth and had our pics taken. Then we basically walked around and played games, like giant Jenga until it was time to eat. The food was good for occasion so that was a plus for the day. Then after we age we played some more games, hung out and had fun until it was fireworks time. They were good but basically ruined by some strangers kids that kept yelling and talking loudly. Oh well I guess its all for a good time. Well thanks for reading.

Permanently Disable Touch Keyboard

How to Permanently Disable The Touch Keyboard In Windows 8 and 10

You may have noticed that, mysteriously, Windows’ Touch Keyboard icon keeps appearing in your system tray (or the actual keyboard pops up). If you’re as annoyed by the phantom appearance as we are, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this simple solution to permanently banish it.

Why Does the Touch Keyboard Keep Appearing?

There are two primary situations where you may find the “touch keyboard” icon appearing in your system tray. The first, and more common situation, is that you have a laptop or convertible tablet running Windows 8 or 10 and that device has a touch screen. In this case, Windows is attempting to always make the on-screen touch keyboard accessible to you in the event that you wish to use the device in touch-only mode. If you never use the touch screen on your device, the presence of the icon and accidentally loading the on-screen keyboard can get very annoying very quickly.

The icon, resting in its native habitat.

The second, and less common, situation is that you have connected to your Windows machine with Windows Remote Desktop Connection or a similar remote desktop solution and Windows has turned on the touch keyboard so that you can, if need be, use your mouse or finger (if connecting via touch screen device) to type on the remote computer.

There seems to be a minor bug in both instances where even after you turn the keyboard off by the obvious mechanism, by right clicking on the icon and unchecking “show touch keyboard button”, it returns shortly thereafter, or upon rebooting. There is no way to banish the icon using the regular taskbar and system tray customizations. In addition to that more common annoyance, some Windows users even run into the touch keyboard popping up unexpectedly when triggered by an unseen event–if you don’t even need the touch keyboard this is particularly annoying.

If this albeit small intrusion into your system tray (or a bigger intrusion right onto your desktop) is painfully irritating to you then it’s easy enough, if you know where to look, to permanently banish the touch keyboard icon.

First let’s look at how to get rid of the icon (which might suffice for some readers) and then how to banish the touch keyboard application altogether so it neither appears in the system tray nor randomly pops up.

Two small notes before we continue. First, you need to have administrative access to the computer in question to follow along with this tutorial. Second, the touch keyboard that is included with Windows 8 and Windows 10 as part of the touch screen integration (and which appears on all hardware the OS is installed on, regardless of whether it is a touch screen device or not) is not the on-screen keyboard app that has been built into Windows for ages. By disabling the touch screen keyboard you are not removing the on-screen keyboard app–it will remain installed and available for those emergency keyboard failure situations, should the need arise.

Solution One: Disable the Touch Keyboard Service

This is the first step, and the step that should suffice for the majority of users. The touch keyboard loads as a Windows Service by default. The most direct way to get rid of the annoyance it is to simply disable the service. To do so open up the Services menu by pressing Windows+R on your keyboard and typing “services.msc” in the resulting run dialog box.

In the Services menu that pops up, click on the “Name” column to sort the services by name, and then scroll until you locate the “Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service”. Double click on the entry.

In the resulting properties menu, look for “Startup type” and, in the drop down menu, change it to “Disabled”. At the bottom of the window, under “Service status”, click “Stop” to halt the service.

Click “OK” and then, upon rebooting your computer next, the change should be permanent. No more annoying icon in the system tray.

Solution Two: Rename the TabTib.exe

If you find that the touch keyboard pops up again, despite disabling the service as you did in the previous step, then you may need to take a slightly more drastic approach to getting it out of your face: by disabling the actual executable.

This step is simple and easily reversible, but does involve messing around with your Windows system files, so you need to carefully follow the instructions. To rename the necessary file, press Windows+R to pull up the run dialog box and enter the following location:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink

Press Enter to jump to the folder and then scroll down until you find the “TabTip.exe” file. We’re going to make some minor changes to the file that include changing ownership of the file (so we can rename it) and then renaming it so it no longer runs. These changes are completely reversible should you wish to enable access to the touch screen keyboard at a future date.

Right click on the “TabTip.exe” file and select “Properties.”

At the bottom of the properties box, click on “Advanced”.

At the top of the Advanced Security Settings window and look for the entry labeled “Owner”. By default, the file belongs to “TrustedInstaller”. Click on the “Change” button to change that.

In the “Select User or Group” box, look for the “Enter the object name to select” box and type “Administrators”, as seen below. Click OK.

Click OK on each window until you are back in the folder where we found the TabTib.exe file (you have to OK everything and exit out of the properties windows for the owner change to take effect).

Open up the exact menus we just opened–right click and select “Properties” then click on “Advanced” to take us back to where we were. In the “Advanced Security Settings” click on “Change permissions”, located in the lower left side of the screen, then click on “Administrators” to change the settings for that group.

In the “Administrators” permission window, select “Full Control” (it will check all the other boxes automatically, except for “Special permissions”).

Go ahead and click OK, and then keep clicking OK until you are all the way back at the file list we were originally looking at. Right click on “TabTip.exe” and select “Rename”.

Rename the file “TabTip.exe.bak”. This will change the extension from .exe to .bak, as far as Windows is concerned, and the file will no longer be executable–thus anything that triggers the touch keyboard to pop up will fail to do so. You can reverse this at any time by returning to this folder and renaming the file “TabTip.exe” without the “.bak” on the end.

Although it took more than a few steps, that’s all there is to it. If you were annoyed as could be because Windows kept throwing up the tray icon or the actual touch screen keyboard, despite your best efforts to get rid of it, you can now use Windows without a feature you don’t even want getting in your way.

My Thoughts for Today

Well as you may know this is the 4th of July weekend. The once a year celebration of America's independence. I know countries all over the world have the same sort of thing at their own time. Anyway my family is here to visit for the weekend. We started last night by going to see Disney's The BFG which was actually pretty good. Then today I took my sons car to the dealer to get it serviced and then washed. It was so dirty, wish I would have gotten a pic of it before and after. Its like two different cars lol. Anyway while I was doing that the rest of the Family went to Redondo Beach, CA.  When I finally finished at the dealership (we all know that takes longer than what they estimate) I came home showered and met them at Joe's Crab Shack for lunch. It was good and fun. That is all for now. I will write more later. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe day. Enjoy!!

Warning!!

Good morning everyone, I got a call from my moms last night. Apparently my parents have a bunch of charges on their card (bank account) from Uber which were not done by them. So I want to send out this warning to watch your accounts. You never know who is out there doing what. It can happen to anyone at anytime. Make sure you protect yourself and always check your statements. Thanks and have a wonderful Friday and great weekend!!

My Thought for the Day

I was going to write something different today but my conversation earlier changed my mind. So I am going to write about our stupid legal system, which I have written on briefly before but I feel today I need to write again so I can vent a little.

Why do they put time limits on having paperwork turned in or people being served papers if they are not going to enforce them? It does not make sense at all and to me its a black eye on the system. I believe our system is broke and needs to be fixed. The judicial system is part of the government. So if they need to hire more judges, clerks or whatever then they need to do that. How is it that certain parties can file stuff whenever they want and get away with it all? It doesn't matter and the one who is following the rules just has to sit back and take it. Even if they are in the right, it just does not matter. No matter how much complaining, phone calling, writing, whatever nothing makes a difference. So here I am, again doing everything correctly, following the rules, laws and court orders but the opposing party doesn't and nothing happens. Why give them a time frame if it does not matter. What is the point to it all? It makes one want to throw your hands in the air and say I'm done. But then if that happens one will lose anyway. It is all a big vicious circle that can't be won by the person doing right. Heck even persons get jailed for committing crimes they did not do. Later to find out, many years later I might add, that the evidence, if done correctly, would have shown they were innocent. Like I said our legal system is so messed up. I think judges and attorneys should all be held accountable if the timelines and rules are not followed. Then, just maybe then they will start enforcing the rules when their clients break them. I am so tired of doing all the right things and getting hosed because no one wants to hold the people accountable for their actions. Its just crazy ridiculous and I am tired of it. I would rather move to a country where there isnt a system like ours in place so that when someone does something wrong they actually get in trouble for it, get punished for not following the court orders.

Sorry to vent today on this Friday but I had to get it out. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Ill be back tomorrow.

My Thoughts for Today

Well yesterday was a travel day for me. I started by getting only 3 hours of sleep due to our Disneyland adventure. So I get to the airport and I have hearing and reading about the long lines caused by TSA personnel. Well I did not see it. I went through pretty quickly. It was not a problem. This flight was a direct one this time so that was good. I did not have to stop somewhere and switch planes like I will be doing on the way back. Of course I get to go on a 777 on the return flight so I can't be to mad at that.

One thing that I did realize on this trip though. People are selfish and the one place where you can see that more than any other is at an airport. I am sure that if anyone has flown before you know exactly what I am talking about. Its like once someone gets out of the car, whether getting dropped off or parking, all sense of helping go out the door. People only lookout for themselves and where they need to be/go. They have to be there on time and there is no stopping them. They don't care about others or what is going on around them. For instance once they are in the security line...even though I know people have traveled before and know the rules yet they get up the screening part and still have to hold up the line because they have to remove their shoes or jacket or best of all their belt. I mean seriously people is it really that difficult? Do you not understand the rules? Do we need to put a giant neon sign at the TSA checkpoint that tells you exactly what to do? C'mon now your holding up a bunch of other people that need to get to their flights just like you do. What is so hard about being ready?

Then at the other end, instead of grabbing their belongings and moving out of the way, they just sit there gathering their stuff and taking their time putting it on, blocking others from grabbing their gear! What is up with that? Have some common courtesy and get out of the way. I am almost certain there are others that are in more of a hurry than you or just as much of. So get it and get out! It is really simple.

Another example is when people are waiting in line to get their luggage checked in. Everyone squeezes in as tight as they can get. Hey!! Have you heard of personal space? Your not going to get to the front of the line any quicker by pushing the person in front of you. I had someone do that, kept bumping into me. Finally I turned around and asked him to please stop bumping me. He did it again and I was not so polite that time. The same thing happens when everyone is waiting on their luggage at the baggage claim area. Everyone crowds around the front to be the first one to get their bags. Why? It does not matter where you stand. The bags are going to come out when they do and it doesn't matter if your at the front or back. So you might save 15 seconds and grab the bag first, is that a reason to push others aside. C'mon people, where is your common courtesy. Why does everyone all of a sudden become the example of selfish when they get in an airport?

Here is a thought....get their earlier if your going to have to hurry and if you have a short connecting time....change it when your making your reservation. Watch out for others, your not the only traveler and only one in a hurry, there are others as well. Chill on the speed and 5 hour energy drinks. Everyone will reach their intended destination and life will go on. There is no reason to make yours as well as others crappy for one day. Get to the airport earlier if you have to. Whatever it takes to remember there are others traveling as well. That is all for now. Thanks for reading

My Thought for the Day

Good afternoon all. Sorry I did not get my thought in yesterday. That is because I spent all day at Disneyland with my brother, his daughters, my son and his girlfriend. It was a great day. We all got up early and left the house around 715am in order to get there by the 8am opening. Wow it was so crowded when we got to the parking area. So today I am writing to you about my day yesterday and then later on either tonight or tomorrow I will write about my trip today (Tues 31 May).

So like I said we tried to get there early but no matter how much you plan, if you don't get up really early, your just not going to make it. So we arrived there (Disneyland) around 810a, which really is not bad considering we had 6 of us to get ready which included two young girls. Although I have to give them credit along with everyone else, they were ready to go when it came time. I guess just the thought or knowledge of going to Disney had them ready to go. So once we arrived, it was a little crazy of course. Everyone is getting there at the same time. All lanes going into the parking garage were open and ready to go. Things is two of the lanes were not being utilized for some reason. Then when they did open things started flowing a little better. So we moved forward and then all the sudden we stop and don't move at all. WTH is going on. All the other lanes are moving except us. Who knows but our guess is someone did not have the parking fee ready or did not know they had to pay or something. Well we got past that and finally were able to park. Yeah on to the tram.

We took the tram to the park and went in with no problems. In fact the ticket takers were pretty good to us. So off we are going. But first things first. We hit up Hyperspace Mountain as its called now because they added some Star Wars stuff to it. There was already a 30min wait on it so we got fastpasses. Come back at 1015 it said. Cool. No one really wanted to do Star Tours except me, plus it was a 20 min  wait so we skipped it. Then we split up. I did the Buzz lightyear shooter with my son and his girlfriend while by brother and his daughters went to Toon Town. Then we all met up again at 1015 to go on Hyperspace Mountain. It was really fun. Throughout the day we split up and met up again. Going on the different rides. One thing that stuck out in my mind though was the fact that Star Tours wait time got up to 2+ hours while Hyperspace Mountain only got up toe 75 min at its peak. Interesting. No worries though it was all fun and we enjoyed our time together and the park.

After we were all winding down and tired we left and went shopping in downtown Disney, then we all decided to go see a movie before heading home for the night. We didn't get home until around 11p which kinda sucked since I had to be up at 445a. Oh well thats the way things go I guess. I hope you all have a good day. Thanks for taking the time to read.

My Thought for Today

Hello everyone, how are you doing today. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful day on the Memorial weekend. Tomorrow most people have the day off and will enjoy it with family and friends. I will be spending the day at Disneyland with my brother and his daughters along with my son and his girlfriend. I know it will be a very fun day. I also know my knee and feet will probably end up hurting at the end of the day lol. Have you ever gone somewhere where you are on your feet for most of the day? Then at the end your feet are hurting and you would do anything to get off them so you can rest your feet. Well I know that is how I and I'm sure the others will be at the end of the day. It will be very interesting as well as fun for sure. The part that might suck though is the fact that it is a holiday and as such it will probably be more crowded then during the regular week days. I just hope its not to bad to where we are waiting for two plus hours in line just for a ride. I hate when that happens.

Of course the first ride is always Pirates of the Caribbean and then onto whatever else from there. I have not been on the newly refurbished Space Mountain or as its called now, Hyperspace Mountain. I will post my reviews for those that have not been there yet since its refurbishing. Hopefully it will live up to the new name of Hyper. That is all for today as it is such a beautiful day out and I have to finish packing for my next trip. Take care everyone and have a wonderful day and rest of the weekend.

My Thought for the Day Pt. 2

Today was a good day. We spent the day at California Adventure. It was fun. It was just my niece and me since my brother and my other niece went to Sea World. I have a couple of pics. None of me though. We enjoyed it like I said. We got there early enough so that we didn't have to wait in line forever. The longest we waited in line was for the Cars ride which was about an hour and a half wait. That was not bad compared to most lines that you have to wait in at the big rides. Monday is going to be crazy though. We are all going to Disneyland for the day.

So we started off going to the right after entrance into the park. We hit Soarin over California first. She really liked it. She had never been on it. Anyway then we continued up and to the right. Hitting the rides along the way. We hit the small roller coaster and then onto the river raft ride. We both got wet but at least it was early so we didn't stay soaked all day. Then onto the big one, Screamin California. That was fun and she was screaming. I was laughing. It was good. After that we got some ice cream and onto Cars, then she wanted to go to the Tower of Terror. I have never been on that ride before. There was actually two rides I have not been on before but today was the first time I went on them. The Little Mermaid which is sort of like Haunted House ride at Disneyland and then Tower of Terror thing. I actually liked that one. I did not think I would be it was cool.

We also go to do one of the street shows from Toy Story. The Green Army guys came out and did a show, I got picked to go up front and perform on the stage with another guy. We were given pink tambourines and played to the beat of the drums. It was fun as well. First time I did that.

Overall it was a good day. Now its time to do the laundry and relax. Tomorrow is worship and my son and his girlfriend will be coming in to spend the rest of the weekend with us. Then on Monday all six of us will be going to Disneyland. It is sort of a birthday/graduation present for my son's girlfriend thing. We can't wait. Hope you all have a great day and a safe weekend!

My Thought for Today Pt. 1

Good morning everyone and Happy Saturday. I hope you all have a good day today and are enjoying the beginning of our three day weekend. I am taking my niece to Disney's California Adventure park today. It will be fun. I hope everyone has a good day today. I am doing my thoughts in two parts today. This first one is for the beginning of the day. I will check in again this evening with my thoughts and pics of the day. I pray the Lord keeps you in whatever you choose to do. Take care and have a great day.

My Thought for Today

Today I am thinking that its finally the holiday weekend. It has arrived!! Its been a long time coming. We haven't had a day off since Feb and now we finally get the unofficial beginning of summer. My brother and son are here this weekend visiting. We are going to all go to Disneyland. Should be fun. We have not been there in a long time. I can't wait. Of course its going to make the weekend go faster but i don't care because we do get one extra day off for it. Sunday will be the relax day, do laundry and stuff like that. Need to get those items done as soon as possible of course. Then again maybe I can get them completed tonight. That would be nice so I don't have to worry about it this weekend.

I don't have any gripes right now but I can tell you that I know I will have one or two of them during this weekend. There is just to much traveling and other activities going on not to. I'm sure when we go to the beach it will be the same way as well. To me though its actually a good thing because it gives me ideas to write about and what my thoughts are towards the subject at hand. So that's it for now. I pray everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. Those that are traveling be careful, its going to be ugly.

My Thought for Yesterday

Good morning and happy Friday everyone. We finally made it to the holiday weekend...yeah! Sorry I did not get to post my thought for last night. My brother and his daughters came into town and my son will be coming in as well. We are spending the weekend together. Should be fun. I will be posting my thoughts this evening probably though. For now I want to get through this work day, for those of us that have to work you know what Im talking about. But it should be a good weekend overall. I hope you all enjoy it and have a safe, fun and happy weekend.

My Thought for Today

"Common Sense ain't that Common"

One of my friends told me this today. It was funny of course but if you really stop and think about it....its very true! Unfortunate but true. Especially now a days. I mean think about it, for those that are on FB every once in awhile you will see the meme going around that says when I was a kid we drank from those hose, played in the street, yadda yadda yadda right? Well that is basically the same thing with common sense. It used to be that people had more common sense then they did book sense. Then around what, maybe the early 90s or so the emphasis was put on getting book smart, get your degree, its the only way to get a good job. Then technology took off and everyone was using their phone or computer to look up information on the internet or whatever. Sort of like The Big Bang Theory. Its all started with a big bang, first computers, then faxes, then phones, cell phones, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, etc and now the one thing that helped a generation grow up is all gone! Common Sense. It seems like the young adults and down just do not have any common sense. In fact I bet the ones that are reading this getting offended at it are going to scrutinize the spelling and are saying to themselves. "I have plenty of common sense".

Sorry folks, but its true, common sense (CS I'll just call it or writing space/time) is gone. It seems no one has it anymore. Look at the engineers, architects, designers, etc.. it seems buildings are designed for max space or to go as high as possible and no thought to people, parking and walkers. At least that is how it is in Los Angeles. I mean seriously you have to park underground, find a pay parking lot or park a few miles away and walk to where you want to go. WHY? Would it not be better if your customers and patrons could park in front of your business. Would that not make them want to come there more, instead of them thinking, well we gotta pay for parking again, lets wait until we can spend the whole day there. Who wants to go shopping for one item and pay more for parking then they do for the item. CS would seem to come into play there and many other situations. Especially in driving.

Really LA drivers, get a clue. CS would say that if you are in the left hand lane and your exit is coming up that you get over at least a mile before, maybe even two in rush hour traffic but what do you do....you wait until the last second, hold up traffic while your non-CS head decides at the last second to start to try and get over. In the meantime you have a bunch of people behind you stopping and holding up traffic and getting everyone mad at you and working your best to get over. Then accidents are about to happen but who knows what is going to happen. Maybe you get lucky, maybe you miss your exit, maybe you cause a pile up that will cause everyone else on the freeway to be  at least 2 hours late to where they are going. Anyway enough of this. What am I saying? GET SOME COMMON SENSE PEOPLE. If you don't have any, ask an elder person or someone that might know what your talking about so you can learn.

Have a good hear, talk to you tomorrow.

My Thoughts for Today - Remembering

Well everyone we made it to Tuesday and one day closer to the first holiday weekend since Feb for those that go the 15th off. It is also the unofficial kick off of the summer season. I always liked Memorial weekend because of that but most people are incorrect in what it stands for. Memorial day is a day to honor those that have fallen in the line of combat. To honor those men and women that have passed by giving their lives for our country while serving in the military. Some people get this one confused with Labor Day and Veterans Day in meaning not when it is or name. I hope this has cleared up some things for those that were not sure.

I know that as each generation comes new theories, ideas, understanding, advances, etc...but at the same time each generation brings a loss of the past, events that happened that would never be believed. Like will the kids of today believe that we sent someone to the moon? Will they believe that at one time the Pledge of Allegiance was said in classrooms of schools across the country? Will they know that at one time not only were schools segregated but so was everything else from the barber shop to grocery stores from buses to walking around? We have come a long way since the days when there was no electricity or phones, no cars or airplanes, when things were done by candlelight at night and you either rode a horse, stagecoach or walked everywhere.

Times have changed greatly over the past 100+ years and depending on when Christ comes back will continue to change over the next 100+ years. The problem is will the current generation know and remember enough of the past to not repeat the same mistakes that each generation makes? I think one of the biggest examples in with families. No matter what we do it still seems like we make the same mistakes over and over. There is still a high divorce rate (in California alone its up to 75%), there is still abuse, single parents (more and more now), mixed up, lonely, crazy, privileged and poor kids. It's a shame and it will continue to happen no matter what because of our society and Satan. Until one puts God first and actually studies, understands and follows His word then nothing will change and history will continue to repeat itself over and over, no matter what TV or the movies say/show. Its just a fact of life. The way to get started with fixing it.....look in the mirror and start with that person.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care and i'll be back tomorrow. Thank you for reading. Please like and/or subscribe to my blog. Jim out...

My Though for Today - On Hold

You know this really gets to me and I don't understand it. Today there are computers used for everything under the sun obviously but I just don't get having to wait on hold for a phone call.

So I call into this business and after going through a bunch of promps, enter this info and that info and then apparently getting to where I am supposed to be to get my question answered I get put on hold?? I'm confused, why do we have to enter all the info in go through 3 or 4 different menus to get where we want and then get put on hold. What is the purpose. Are they just routing you around until someone is available to take your call?

Why do they have you input all the information if they are just going to ask you again when you get to a live person? This does not make sense either. If they have plenty of people working a call center then you should get a person right away. If they are so low that they have to route you around a few different menu options then when you finally get the place where you want you should not have to repeat everything that you already entered just to do it all over again, especially after waiting on hold for a long time.

Maybe its just me but I think if you are going to have customer support then they should be there to support you. The computer system or whatever it is that they company employs to screen the phone calls with should have all the information put up on the receivers screen already so they don't have to ask the same questions to get the same information all over again.

Well I guess that is it for today. I might post some more things later on that you all might be interested. I'm still waiting for some comments on what you all would like to read up on. Anything how to fix something to whats going on in the world. Let me know or even anything you want me to write on, I will do the same. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday and just remember, this time next week you will be off and enjoying a little extra sleep hopefully.

My Thoughts for Today - Traffic

Today is Sunday, May 22nd, 2016. The sermon was very nice and informative. I love going to worship and learning more about Christ and building that relationship with Him.

Enough of that for now. Today's though that I will write about has to do with work shift times. Now I am going to write about my experience in L.A. and other places where I have been stationed at but I am sure this applies to all big city businesses.

Here is the thing, we have our rush hour traffic from around 0500 to 1000 and again at 1400 to 2100L. That is a long time. Even with what I am suggesting I know its not going to change much, even around here. But changing the times that people come and go would seem like a partial solution. When I was in the military that is what we did. We staggered shifts so people weren't all trying to come in at the same time and it would not create a back log of cars at the gate in the morning and again in the afternoons. I don't see why more businesses don't do that. Where I work now at the FAA we do that. Shifts start anywhere from 0600 till 0900L and stay for your 8 hours. It doesn't help in the big scheme of traffic but it does work well for the business. It worked well in the military as well.

It just doesn't make sense to me, in a large city, such as L.A. to have everyone coming into work at the same time. Stagger them, give others time to sleep in a little if they want and stay and work a little later. Try anything to free the traffic parking lot that is our freeways. Seriously, if you go on the freeway during peak driving times, you might as well bring your dinner and something to read because its going to take you at least 30 min to travel 1 mile. That is literal and is NO joke. So forget it if you have to travel more than 5 miles, you will spend just as much time on the freeway going to and from work then you actually do at work. Think about it....1-2 to get there and 2-4 hours to get home, that is almost as much time. So you end up spending another work day on the road. Some people here live 30+ miles from where they work because the housing is so expensive in L.A. that they move to the outskirts, where its a little cheaper and commute in every day.

Can you imagine living 40 miles away? Driving back and forth, besides it being 80 miles a day minimum on your car, its also the time spent sitting, and I mean sitting, in traffic. Then work for 8 hours, then back to it again. When do you see your family? When do you have time to go out? I mean really, by the time you get home Fri your done for that day so you only have Sat and Sun left. Now let me explain that. Sat and Sun here in L.A. is no different as far as traffic then on the weekends. The freeways are the same except instead of rush hour for the morning and late afternoons, you have rush hour almost all day long because everyone has to go somewhere apparently. Forget trying to go to the beaches or amusement parks after a certain time, your screwed basically.

The best time to drive on the freeway is late Sat night/early Sun morning. That the is slowest time, don't get me wrong, there are still cars everywhere, but its not stop and go.

Oh and don't forget if there is an accident on the freeway your on in your direction or not, you might as well turn the car off and take a nap, because your not getting anywhere, especially if its a multi-lane one. Just call where ever you were going and tell them to either expect you way later or just cancel and reschedule. Although I do have to admit, if its on the other side you might actually move at a turtle or snails pace but still, you will be late because apparently, EVERYONE has to slow down to see what happened? WHY?? Just keep going, do they not understand there are others driving that are trying to get places, other people behind you that when you put on your brakes to look have to slam on theirs to avoid getting in an accident! Think about it people and figure it out. It's really not that difficult.

Ok that is it for now. On to other work that I have to do today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and talk to you all tomorrow.
