“But the LORD God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” Genesis 3:9 (NIV)

The first time I eyed him, he was sitting on the floor at a friend’s Bible study with his back against the wall, dressed in scruffy jeans and a red flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled halfway up his muscular forearms. His thick brown hair and chocolate-brown eyes left me weak in the knees. And the best part was that this handsome man (whom I eventually married) had a tattered Bible in his lap. I was smitten from the first time I laid eyes on Steve.

Weekend Box Office Results

'Captain Marvel' Tops $760 Million Worldwide as Newcomers Overperform

by Brad Brevet

For a second weekend in a row Disney and Marvel's Captain Marvel topped the weekend box office as it has now posted over $760 million worldwide in just twelve days in global release. Overall, the weekend ended up topping the same weekend last year for a second straight week as both Wonder Park and Five Feet Apart outperformed expectations with their opening weekend performance. At the same time Lionsgate's release of Pantelion's No Manches Frida 2 delivered a top ten finish from just 472 theaters, topping Focus's disappointing release of Captive State, which struggled in its debut in over 2,500 locations.

Today's Encouragement

A Seriously Bad Attitude

Tracie Miles

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” James 1:2 (NLT)

A couple years ago, I found myself struggling with a serious case of a bad attitude. In fact, I adopted the saying, “If I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all.” Bah humbug, all year long.

“Ghost Fleet”

The U.S. Navy Wants To Build a “Ghost Fleet” of Drone Warships

The naval service, having kickstarted flying carrier drones, is now turning its attention to ship drones.

The U.S. Navy plans to buy ten new warships over the next five years that won't carry any sailors.

These drone ships are designed to carry sensors and weapons. Measuring up to 300 feet long and displacing 2,000 tons, the vessels are meant to extend the sensor range of fleets at sea. The ships will also likely carry weapons, giving the fleet greater firepower and an asset commanders won’t hesitate to send on the most dangerous missions, since that won't mean endangering the lives of sailors.

Once upon a time, I used to be obsessed with a spin instructor who taught at 7:30 p.m. twice a week. Even though I ended work at 5:30 p.m., I still waited two hours to get my sweat on—and don’t get me wrong, class was amazing. I was always in the greatest mood, and the rush of endorphins was just what I needed… until I tried to get to bed a few hours later, only to stare at the ceiling instead of fall asleep.

Led by the World

Are Your Friends Led by the World or the Word?

By Rick Warren
“Wise friends make you wise, but you hurt yourself by going around with fools” (Proverbs 13:20 CEV).
One of the things that causes people to miss God’s plan is peer pressure. Most of us know what that was like as a kid or teenager, but that pressure actually continues into adulthood. There’s plenty of bad advice floating around out there, and too often we feel pressured to follow it.

The Power of Trust

The Power of Trusting the Lord with All Your Heart

By Debbie McDaniel, Crosswalk.com Writer
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
If the future feels uncertain right now, and worry keeps occupying too much room in your heart, in your mind, remember this: God is already in all of our tomorrows. He knows our way, and He has a plan. And we can be assured it's always the best one for us.
