My Thoughts for Today

Hello everyone, how are you all doing today? Good I hope. I was thinking about which subject to write about today because I have a few in my mind. So I'm just going to start writing and see where it takes me.

I want to start with today's sermon. For those that do believe our sermon was on 2 Kings 20: 1-11. It's funny you know, people can sit there and say they have read the bible from cover to cover and still, in the short passage, not get what was being said. I'm not saying its that way for everyone but unless you truly study it, word by word, verse by verse there is so much you can miss. Anyway with the passage today we find that Hezekiah learns that he is going to die. He became mortally ill. Isaiah the prophet came to him and told him to get his house in order. That is from the Lord. So Hezekiah being a King you would think that he would have Isaiah killed or something for saying that. But he was a good God fearing king. Instead he turned, prayed and wept. God, hearing his prayers and tears told Isaiah to go back and tell Hezekiah he will give him 15 more years to live. Can you imagine that? Knowing your going to die and then get 15 more years. The question is what would you do with that information? Would you just start living how you want, squandering your life away or would you continue to pray and live the way the Lord, who granted you life, wants you to?

Prayer is a powerful tool for those that believe. Here is the thing that most people do not realize or understand....God answers ALL prayers! Now whether or not He answers the way you want or would like is a different story all together but He does answer it. He might answer with a yes or He might answer with a no. For example if a loved one is dying or about to and your praying for Him not to take that person away. He might say sorry, its time for the loved one to come home, his/her purpose on the earth is completed. We don't know, we do not think like He does.

Why have most of my posts and thoughts been on worship today? Because it is the Lords day. We are to set aside this day for Him, that is all He asks. He sacrificed His only Son so that we may live, its the least we can do. So that is all I am doing.

I think that is all I will be writing about for today. Tomorrow is a new day of a new work week and I am sure there will be more to come up. Take care everyone, hope your having a good day. Enjoy the rest of it.
