I've been thinking about what to write about today. I have a lot on my plate with keeping the blog up, my FB pages, building a web page for church and reading the word, my custody case and work. I don't mind it at all, its just sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. We have not had a holiday in a long time and I am so looking forward to Memorial weekend. My brother is coming to town along with my son. It should be fun. Anyway onto what I was thinking about....
As part of my custody battle I have to speak with the attorney that the court appointed for my son (I take the DNA test tomorrow to find out for sure). So today was my appointment to speak with her. It was at 3pm her time which is noon my time. Ok no problem during lunch everything should be good. Well I got to a quiet place and waited for her to call. Nothing. So about 10 minutes later I tried to call her and the line was busy. I kept trying. I finally got through at 3:25p. Basically it was a miscommunication between the two of us so I had to reschedule which is no big deal at all.
So why did I tell you all that info. I wanted to give a background into why I am going to write something about communication. There is a huge lack of it with people these days. Now I will be the first to admit that I don't always communicate the way I should and/or give all information out like I should but that doesn't mean the whole world has to follow suit right? Look at big companies, they hold to info so they can get the best price and make the most profit on things. News stations report what they want in accordance with (IAW) their parent companies policies and visions. They don't give us the straight stories half the time nor all the information that we might need to make decisions on things that we might want to. Why is it, for that matter, that the news is all bad up until the sports, weather and then the final segment that is usually some fluff filler nice piece? Enough of that. I don't watch the news anymore because of that. I can turn on any show on TV and see killings and other stuff w/out having to waste my time watching 30 minutes of it. At least the shows are a little entertaining unlike the news which is almost like watching golf or baseball. Puts me to sleep everytime.
Communication is also a big deal in families and marriages or at least should be. Without good communication marriages fall apart, families split up, things just go bad. It has to flow both ways, not one way only either. America has one of the highest, if not the highest divorce rate in the world. Why is that? Yes there are many factors involved but I would venture to guess that lack of communication is a big reason if not one of the top reasons for it. How are children going to grow and learn if they are not taught? How are students going to learn if they are not taught? Please people. Lets keep the communication going on all fronts. That is all for today. Enjoy and remember TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!
