My Thoughts for the Day

Traveling. I love to travel. I have been a lot of places in this world and there is a lot more that I would love to visit. During my military career I was fortunate to be stationed overseas in Europe. Best time ever. Most Americans don't get the chance to travel over there but if you do...please go. Its great. Now don't get me wrong I would not trade it for the States but there are things over there that are so much better, like the driving, for example. Unfortunately they don't have the late night stores or 7-11s, Circle Ks and places like that so if something happens late at night, you might be in trouble; depending on what it is you need at that time. But back in my younger day you could go to a night club (which really doesn't get hopping until midnight anyway) and stay dancing until 7 or 8am. Also kids went there to dance and have fun, not to fight and argue try to get something good to post on the internet. They want to have fun and enjoy themselves for a night or two. Most clubs were only open from Thurs thru Sun, but some were open on Mondays as well. Out here all you hear about its VIP sections, segregated clubs (by people, not the law), fights, etc... What happened to the days of just going out and having a good time w/out bothering others or having to hurt, kill or maim to satisfy the ego? Anyway enough of that stuff. Just reliving old memories.

I think my two favorite assignments were in Turkey and Italy. They were really nice and special. The people would always go out of their way to help. They may not always understood you but they would help out if they could. Of course this was all be before 911 happened. The event that changed the world, or at least changed America and the military forever. Its funny though, some of the kids and young adults today don't believe we landed on the moon, that is was all a hoax or faked. I would say in another 5 to 10 years the young people of that day will probably be saying that 911 never happened as well. It's kind of sad that our kids in schools today are not always being taught the truth. But I guess if they know the new core system and how it works they will be able to lead us in the future huh? Alright enough about that.

So today is Tuesday. Like every other day I get up in the morning like most people or at least the ones that word during the day and not the graveyard shift. I go to work and have to take care of items that need to be processed, copied, etc. Right now I have a project going on for a FOIA request. If you don't know what FOIA is; it stands for Freedom of Information Act. Its when a person or people can request information from a business or place that normally does not release it, such as the death of a person. Let me tell you. This is no small task either. I have copied over 800 pages of documents so far and I'm not even half way done. Oh well its all part of my "jack of all trades" job description. I think that will be it for now. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will talk more tomorrow.
