Orphan Black Dabbles in Fun
BBC America
BECAUSE: An Ocean's Eleven-style heist plot at the creepy genetically enhanced mutant baby offices led by and Cosima and Danny and the reappearance of the always entertaining Krystal doing some personal research on eyelid-teeth all in one episode of Orphan Black? Yes, please.

Scandal
ABC
WHAT HAPPENED: Could we really call it a Scandal season finale if it didn'topen on a murder? The murderer in question is Jake, killing his brand spankin' new father-in-law on Rowan's orders. So, naturally, that makes him the No. 1 running mate choice for both the Democratic and Republican presidential campaigns. But claiming Jake is hers , Liv wins out, securing Jake for Mellie's ticket. Olivia swings by to give Fitz the news, and he hilariously responds, "You came by to tell me your ex-boyfriend is going to be on my ex-wife's ticket," but also sweetly responds that he approves of her decision, and though Liv thinks he's talking about Jake, he's actually referring to finding out about her abortion and privately coming to terms with it. So finally, that dude's not being the worst, even if every other dude is, especially Rowan, because getting Jake on the Republican ticket has been his plan all along. Two "children" in the White House... what more could a creepy, controlling, 100 percent evil father figure possibly want?
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: What, only one murder?! The options for future explosions between Olivia and Jake both working on the same ticket under the watchful eye of Rowan… oh, they are endless. When asked by EW if she thought Mellie's new running mate Jake was still working with Rowan, Bellamy Young said, "I really think that will live in people’s hearts over the summer — believing in Jake, doubting him, wondering what game Papa Pope is playing. It's easy to imagine Rowan's hands on the puppet strings. People always underestimate Jake. He's loyal to Liv. It seems his loyalty is a vulnerability." And actor Scott Foley doesn't think that that's one-sided. He told TVLine he knew he might "piss a bunch of people off" by saying it, but he elaborated on Liv and Jake's future anyway: "He's the one that she's chosen. That's not to say that things won't be different once Fitz is out of the White House; there's always going to be an interest there. But I think there's still room for her to grow with Jake." Bring on the shipper wars.

Legends of Tomorrow
The CW
WHAT HAPPENED: Things were happening on Thursday night's Legends of Tomorrow, and the series is setting us up for an explosive finale. First, we learned that pretty much everything the Legends have been doing up until this episode has been orchestrated by the Time Masters... like, just a bunch of old folks in cloaks determining everywhere our heroes travel and when -- not exactly ideal, or as EW recapper Shirley Li puts it, "Way to toss the 'legends'into an existential crisis, Legends." But the real gut punch came when Leonard manages to fully complete his villain-to-hero transformation by out-sacrificing Mick in order to save Ray, dying in the process, and giving us all sorts of Snart feels.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: While Leonard Snart, snarky bad boy extraordinaire, dying is sad, it also feels a little thrilling. Plus, The CW has already revealed that Wentworth Miller will (somehow) still be recurring on the coming seasons of DC's Legends Of Tomorrow and The Flash . The A.V. Club evaluates that decision thusly: "While the unwillingness of the Greg Berlanti-verse series to commit to deaths can be frustrating, here the decision comes as a relief. Miller has been a consistent highlight for Legends ... Taking advantage of the location of [Snart's] death -- over the Oculus -- to technobabble a way out of [the season] lets the episode maintain its gravity while still allowing fans to eagerly await his return." Indeed, consider our awaiting eager.

The Blacklist
NBC
WHAT HAPPENED: Welcome to The Blacklist: Opposite Day. In addition to getting closer to mysterious new villain Alexander Kirk, Thursday's Blacklistepisode served as a backdoor pilot to the potential Famke Janssen spin-off,which means we spent lots of time with Scottie Hargrave... and her son , Tom Keen. Tom spends the episode working with both the Post Office and Scottie's crew (hey, remember when they were the bad guys and how Solomon was stone-cold evil?) to track down Kirk, whom everyone holds responsible for Lizzie's death. There are bank heists and retinal scans and poisonings in Berlin's Turkish embassy, but of course, the biggest shock for Tom comes when he goes to finish off Scottie, and Red calls to say he might not want to do that. As he stands in her home, staring at a photo of Scottie with her husband and a young boy, Red tells him, "If you kill her, all the answers you've been looking for your entire life will die with her." Tom is the little boy in the photo, but here's the catch: Scottie is under the impression that her "perfect baby boy," Christopher Hardgrave died when he disappeared at age 3. She knows nothing of his spy past or extensive Warby Parker collection -- and if Tom wants more answers about his past, he needs to keep it that way.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: So yeah... we'd give that spin-off a try. And while Thursday's set-up episode was all about action and suspense, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp talked to EW about the emotional consequences for Tom's character as this storyline moves forward: "Tom's a little like Pinocchio; he's a boy who wants to be real. He wants to love, but he's not equipped with that skill. This news, the promise of who he is, is exciting, but it's also a double-edged sword. On one hand, it presents him with potential answers about who he is. On the other hand, Scottie Hargrave is a dangerous woman, so he has to be careful about how he proceeds." In regard to Red's warning that Tom keep his new maternal knowledge a secret, Bokencamp sagely advises, "When Red warns you, you best listen."

One More Thing...
Big Bang Theory Tries a Cliffhanger
CBS
BROTHERLY LOVE: A sitcom like The Big Bang Theory isn't exactly known for its big twists, so we were not expecting that last minute cliffhanger in Thursday night's season 9 finale regarding a certain Dr. Aldred Hofstadter and Mary Cooper disappearing for seemingly romantic purposes. We don't want to jinx it, but... the possibility of the roommate agreement including a "Step-Brothers" clause in the future is just too good.
