My Thoughts for the Day

Today I want to talk a little about worship among other things.

I overheard some ladies talking the other day about how they went to church and the preacher was going on to long. They were saying that they had things to do and didn't want to be there and things were going on and on.

Here is my take on that as well as God's. He set apart the 7th day for rest and to serve Him. He asks for 1 day and 1 day only and you can't give Him your full attention? Really and you call yourself a Christian. Sorry but read in Exodus, He explicitly explains that the 7th day is the Sabbath and no work will be performed on that day. Man is created to worship God. Unfortunately Satan got his foothold in our lives (he already knows where he is going and he wants to take as many people with him as he can) and has twisted everything around. Instead of worshiping our Creator we worship money, cars, football, TV, movies, family and many other things that we place above the One who made us. Think about it. What keeps you from going to church? What makes you want to leave as quickly as possible? Why are you making other plans on His day?

In Exodus 39:32 - We read that the construction of the Tabernacle was built exactly as the Lord had commanded.

  1. All of the work was done/ Nothing was left incomplete
  2. The Israelite's (God's people) did the work. God did not entrust this important project to unbelievers.
  3. The Israelite's did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses. There was no human input or changes to the plans for the Tabernacle. They followed the instruction exactly, completely, and entirely.
Why did I mention this, because believers, true believers allow the word of God to dictate their lives willingly. Non-believers and fake Christians allow themselves, their needs, wants, etc...to dictate their lives; what and when they do things, how to think, behave and act. The world is a slew of unbelievers despite what one says on whether or not they are believers, Christian, Catholic or whatever; if not then Matt 16: 9 would have never been written! It took Peter 3 times before he finally understood...CHRIST KNOWS ALL THINGS! We are all equal and He knows your heart. Remember that next time your in service and thinking to yourself....when is this going to end.
