Meet Your (Fictional) Presidential Nominees
ABC
BECAUSE: It wasn't easy. It wasn't without a little conniving, underhandedness, and the occasional basement murder -- but Scandal'sAmerica finally locked in its Presidential nominees for both parties: Hollis finally imploded in his own ego, and Susan bowed out without doing too much damage, leaving O.G. Mellie as the Republican nominee; and on the Democrat side, it shook down to Francisco Vargas. Now the only question for Grant vs. Vargas remains: Who will be their running mates?

Project Runway All Stars
Lifetime
WHAT HAPPENED: Plan your best mixed-print outfit for the weekend and cue the happy dance -- Dom just won Project Runway All Stars! Along with Kini and Ken, the three All Star finalists were tasked with creating an eight-piece collection in four days with a budget of $3,000 that drew upon the experiences of New York City. Kini immediately began designing for a "Park Avenue Princess" headed downtown, Ken called on the architecture of New York to shape his elegant designs, but Dom's winning thematic approach was to hone in on the chaos of New York City. Because no one does just barely controlled chaos -- aka, prints-on-pints-on-prints, two of which she painted herself -- quite like Dom. The judges praised the energy and magic of Dom's final collection, and Isaac even said it made him emotional. And it was enough to clinch Dom her second championship in the Project Runway franchise and we can only hope a textile line one day.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: But there's another big reason to applaud Dom's win, beyond just her unique perspective, her impeccable taste, and her proven track record -- she stayed OUT of the drama that overran this third season of Project Runway All Stars. And that's mainly because... she had no idea it was going down! The season 12 victor told EW, "It's interesting the way it's edited you see a lot of the drama happen in the confessionals when some designers talk about other designers. I had no idea people were saying those kinds of things and that people had that much beef with each other. I thought it was just playful banter because that's how it came across in the workroom." That's right, Dom: priorities! And what did All Stars teach her in her second spin on Project Runway? To always follow her gut.

Grey's Anatomy
ABC
WHAT HAPPENED: Every serialized medical drama must take a field trip to the court room occasionally to see how the other half lives, and in Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, it was under sad, sad circumstances: the custody battle between Callie and Arizona. The exes attempted to keep Sofia's fate out of a judge's hands, but it all ended in a "See you in court!" situation. Owen got on the stand and killed it on Callie's behalf; Andrew did the same for Arizona. And then Penny got up there and made it seem like she hardly knew her lover's kid at all... proooobably because she doesn't. Others took the stand, but it all came down to the mother's own testimonies: Callie was highly emotional and told the judge, "Being a mother is the reason I'm still alive today"; and while Arizona was passionate about motherhood in her time on the stand, she was called to Grey Sloan, and decided to leave the proceedings to go save baby's life. And to everyone's surprise, when the final verdict was read, Arizona was given sole physical custody of Sofia.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: Woof, there was no way to make that one a fully happy ending, huh? As Kevin McKidd who plays Owen told TVLine, "The audience loves Callie. The audience loves Arizona. We want them both to be okay." McKidd should understand that dual-pull especially as he directed Thursday's hour of Grey's; he compared the courthouse drama of the episode to Kramer vs. Kramer, but he also assured that this pain will have payoff: "There is animosity. It's not all fluffy and pretty and nice. There are really intense, complicated emotions flying around. But there's a really beautiful payoff in the finale connected to this." We'll be waiting...

Orphan Black
BBC America
WHAT HAPPENED: Real quick reminder: Sarah has a disgusting genetically-coded maggot embedded in her cheek. It's important to just... keep that in mind at all times. Sarah is also still trying to track down the mysterious M.K., whose "deal" we finally learn on Thursday night -- y'know that her name is actually Vera and, turns out, she's a little T-O'd at Ferdinand for previously "cleaning" her Helsinki clone cluster and taking the life of her best friend Niki and their extended families. And that's why she's currently dousing him in gasoline, about to light it up-up-up. But Sarah shows up just in time to save Ferdinand (and his dollars), as M.K./Vera disappears back into the night. But if she's thinking of getting up to any Neolution business, she should probably know about their new thing: Brightborn, headed up by Evie Cho, is a new service for potential parents that promises "stronger, healthier babies," and we bet they just have some super creative methods of procuring them (never forget: genetically-modifying cheekworm).
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: And with all the cheekworms and the womb foreshadowing, it was an extra special treat to get so many good-humored moments into Thursday's slower-paced episode. Indiewire points out that, "One thing Orphan Black is doing extremely well this season is integrating the comedy and lightening up the otherwise heavy subject matter. Having a villain like Ferdinand on the scene absolutely helps to achieve that tone... Between his frittatas and freakouts over being potentially burnt alive this week, there were plenty of moments that managed to balance that comedy with drama. It's hard to make a bad guy of that nature sympathetic and not cartoonish, but his love for Rachel grounds him quite nicely." They also have a suggestion that Donnie and Felix moonlighting as a gay couple could be turned into a webseries, and we would like to officially sign that petition along with all our sestra.
One More Thing...
Big Bang Theory Celebrates Mother's Day
CBS
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY: It's always a good time on The Big Bang Theorywhen one of the moms comes 'round to put Sheldon or Leonard in check, and on Thursday night's episode, it's Christine Baranski's Dr. Hofstadter paying a visit... and Penny is determined to bond with her. Hijinks and feelings -- or at least the careful calculation of what feelings must be like -- ensue.
