Paul lets us know right up front that the key to having a happy marriage is you must have a spirit filled wife and you must have a spirit filled husband. That means they're both submitted to the will of God and they're both fulfilling their God given role. There is a reason why Paul said this. The missile of divorce can never penetrate the fortress of a marriage while the spirit of God is standing guard.
