TOP MOMENT OF THE NIGHT
This Is a Woman's World
News Networks
BECAUSE: Hillary Clinton made history at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday by becoming the first woman to be nominated for president by a major party. To mark the moment, former President Bill Clinton told stories; celebrities gave rousing performances; and Clinton herself tuned into the DNC live from New York via satellite feed. She told the audience, "If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say: I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next."

The Bachelorette
ABC
WHAT HAPPENED: Ah, yes -- The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special. Let us count the ways we love it: First, there's the fact that Chris Harrison replayed the notorious "Evan pushing Chad" clip in slow motion and the audience agreed that Evan actually did push Chad. It doesn't change the notion that Chad is a creep who's sought out and dated both Grant and Robby's ex-girlfriends since he's been off the show. Of course there's the extensive preview of Bachelor in Paradise that reveals horrors -- Wells and Ashley Iaconetti?! -- and gives hope that this franchise may never end. And finally there's fair JoJo and the last two suitors she released after capture. Specifically, it's noted that JoJo cut both Luke and Chase loose the moment after they said "I love you" -- something she asked of them. Yet, the woman still comes out on top of Tuesday's very special episode -- how does she do it?
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: We tried to keep the Chad anecdotes to a minimum, but the special episode really was almost entirely about the man made of protein who dominated the entire front half of JoJo's season. And Vulture has some spirited ideas about how ABC arrived at the decision to showcase its newest one-liner machine: "In a bunker hidden deep within the Rocky Mountains, heads of state from around the globe meet to decide if the weapon should be released one more time. A military leader says that the time to strike is now. A prime minister reminds him what happened the last time the weapon was activated. Chaos and destruction rolled over the country. And strangely, farm animals went missing. Finally, the President of the United States of God Damn America turns around in her chair and says, 'Do it. I love this s---.' ... And so, The CHAD is back." And so he is. See ya in paradise, The Chad!

Zoo
CBS
WHAT HAPPENED: Chloe is officially gone on Zoo, but everyone's favorite intrepid renegade journalist is back on board -- and she's pretty angry for someone who just got rescued. New Animal Avenger Allison is unsure about Jamie and Logan's participation on the team, but Jackson is more concerned with getting Allison to cough up what she knows about Chloe's dying words:"The courier." As it turns out, The Worldwide Courier is a newspaper from 1895 that features headlines such as "Ants Create Lightning" and "Earthquakes Caused by Sloths." Sound familiar? That's because apparentlyall of the environmental changes caused by triple-helix animals have happened before and Mitch just used the next headline to track down an "eye witness" to both instances of the genomic fossils: an immortal jellyfish in Portugal that was part of the first change. He pinpoints that the jellyfish was exposed to a massive amount of radiation in 1895, causing one of its genes to mutate. That is what we'll be calling the "ghost gene" from here on out.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: Now all the Animal Avengers need to do to save the world is figure out how to locate the ghost gene in the triple-helix animals and find a cure for it. Mitch notes that General Davies must have already figured out how to find it considering that he's created a poisonous gas that targets it, which seems impossible unless he has an animal pathologist on his team smarter than Mitch. Cue the reveal that Davies has Jackson's dad, Dr. Robert Oz -- long presumed dead -- locked away somewhere, demanding to see his son. Perhaps that's why actor James Wolk said this in an interview with BuddyTV at San Diego Comic-Con: "The show starts to take a very dark turn." Wolk promised that, moving forward, Jackson will find out more about what his dad had to do with the animal mutation, and that Jackson isn't the only one wrapped up in family drama: "There's a lot of family involved in this season," Wolk told BuddyTV. "You get to see where these characters come from."

Animal Kingdom
TNT
WHAT HAPPENED: The daring Cody boys are ready to pull off their biggest heist yet, and the plan is flawless. The big highlight: sending a teenager (a teenager who is pretty certain that one of his uncles has slept with his girlfriend and has to ask another pseudo uncle if he might actually be his dad) on his bike through a military base to set off a sprinkler so that gobs of money will have to be moved from one building to another. Let's not forget that this military base is heavily guarded by marine patrols and that their man on the inside suddenly seems to be toying with the idea of having a conscience crisis. And yet it all goes off without a hitch. By the end of the hour, the fellas are showing up to the base with a bunch of fake money, guns, and fake IDs just as J is showing up at Alexa's house and complaining that his family ruins everything. Cut to black.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: That leaves plenty of room for interpretation as to where the final few episodes of Animal Kingdom's debut season are headed. If actor Shawn Hatosy is to be trusted more than his shifty character Pope, some of the most difficult scenes -- both physically and mentally -- lie ahead. Of what's coming, he told The Wrap, "I think it will change the dynamic of our show going forward and people will definitely be talking about it." He also noted that Pope "brushes back" against the dysfunctional relationship he shares with his mother Smurf: "Hopefully it won't be the death of him in season 2," said Hatosy. As for the fate of other characters in season 1, he could make no guarantees.

TJ's Armed
AMC
ARE YOU MY PAPA?: In addition to TJ bringing a gun to school on Tuesday's episode of Feed the Beast, the hour also takes on the lingering issues of his paternity. So, you know, it's the usual light-hearted fare.
