Did You Know?
The popular English lullaby “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” is a hybrid of sorts: the lyrics are adapted from the 19th century English poem “The Star” by Jane Taylor and the tune is an 18th century French melody “Ah! vous dirai-je, maman”—which in turn was popularized by way of German composer Mozart, with his adaptation “Twelve Variations on ‘Ah vous dirai-je, Maman'”.
