Shaving hair doesn’t cause it to grow back thicker, but it may appear to do so as shaving slices through the hair shaft, creating a cross section of the hair that is darker and more visible.

Microbend
A Microbend can be the result of an imperfection caused when the optical fiber was created during manufacturing or be a small scale bend caused by pressure exerted on the optical fiber when tightly cabled with other “elements”. Both types of Microbends are capable of causing degraded system performance (attenuation).
Contrast with Macrobend.
