Mon Inspiration

Morning Inspiration with Pastor Merritt

This psalmist gives us words to live by: "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." (Psalms 119:11) God always has the final say. You can think something is right, you can feel something is right, you can be convinced that something is right. But if God says it's wrong, then it's wrong. In the game of life, God's Word is always the trump card.

This may sound like God is a deity with a list of abusive rules. But He is actually a God who knows better than we do how to avoid pain, frustration, and destruction in our lives. Because He sees the edge of the cliff clearer than we do, He places guardrails next to the drop off. Trusting that God has our best interests in mind means following His commands. And when we follow His commands, we often avoid heartache, pitfalls, and the destruction of our reputation.
