Software Rot (a.k.a. Software Erosion, Code Rot, Bit Rot, Software Entropy, and Software Decay) refers to the gradual decline in performance of computer software.
Signs and/or causes of Software Rot include: slower responsiveness, erratic behavior, missing updates, bad software design, potential incompatibility with upgrades to the computer’s operating system, etc.
