(NEWSER) – Maybe 1986 should be remembered as a standout year in the world of heavy metal. Why? Well, three of the top 10 albums on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest metal albums of all time were released that year. The best of the best metal albums from the 1970s, when heavy metal was truly born, and beyond:
