Surrender

Surrender

By Touching Lives
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20
General William Booth, the founder of Salvation Army, was in his 80’s when someone asked him how he was able to build a world-class organization from scratch in a relatively short period of time with no resources, no capital, and no money. He said, “I will tell you the secret. God has had all there was of me. There have been men with greater brains than me, men with greater opportunities. But from the day I got the poor of London on my heart and a vision of what Jesus Christ can do with them, I made up my mind that God would have all there was of William Booth. If there is anything of power in the Salvation Army today, it is because God has had all the adoration of my heart, all the power of my will, and all the influence of my life.”
When we did not know what to do with our sin and our failures and our faults, God sent Jesus so that we could know how to be forgiven. When we don’t know how to live or what is the right thing is to do, God has given us His Word so that we will know how to live and we will know what to do.
When you don’t know what to do, you surrender to the authority of God’s Son. You listen to the guidance of God’s Word and you obey the leadership of God’s Spirit and you will know what to do.
