Did You Know/Tech Term

Did You Know?

In Australia, roughly 80 kilometers east and slightly north of Adelaide, there’s a cave called “Well It Wasn’t There Last Year Cave”–we can only presume that whoever discovered and named the cavern was quite confident that it wasn’t, in fact, there last year.

Demon Dialing

Demon Dialing was a phone dialing technique from the 1980s where a computer or specialized device was used to repeatedly call a telephone number in order to try and be the first one to get through after the previous individual had just ended their call.
Reasons for Demon Dialing included trying to access crowded modem pools and trying to win radio show call-in contests.
