We know of times in our own lives when we had drawn back from Christ, unwilling to pay the price of discipleship, deceived into thinking we could find another master who wouldn't demand so much of us. But, as Peter said, "To whom should we go?" What other option is open to us if we hope to live at peace? The happiest subjects of the kingdom are not those who have flung Christ's authority from their shoulders but those who have surrendered their lives to his control.
