If you use OpenTable to make your restaurant reservations, you may be able to afford your next vacation sooner than you thought.

The restaurant reservation system announced last week that users will be able to redeem their loyalty dining points for discounts on hotel stays with Kayak.

Every time OpenTable users make and show up for a reservation through the service, they earn dining points. And now those dinners out can add up to weeks on vacation.

You have to rack up at least 2,000 points to take advantage of the offer. Depending on how many points you've earned, you could save anywhere from $20 to $200 at more than 400,000 hotels that are bookable through Kayak, including boutique and luxury properties. In order to redeem dining points for discounts, users need to visit opentable.kayak.com and log in.

“OpenTable diners are avid travelers, so we are excited to offer a Dining Reward that will help them save on their next trip,” Steve Hafner, CEO of Kayak, said in a statement. “Kayak and OpenTable are both Booking Holdings’ brands and creating shared value for our respective users — diners that love to travel and travelers that need to eat — is a priority.”

The amount of dining points you can earn depends on where you’re making a reservation. But it is possible to earn up to 1,000 points from a single reservation at select restaurants that advertise “additional points.” (So if you’re trying to earn discounts as quickly as possible, we suggest searching for these types of reservations through OpenTable.)

Bon appetit and bon voyage!
