After casting 5 million votes, Goodreads users ranked these books as their favorites from 2018.

You've seen our list of the best books of 2018. Now Goodreads—the social networking and cataloging site for books and readers—has just released its own “best of” rankings in the Goodreads Choice Awards 2018. More than 5 million Goodreads users over the last five weeks voted for their favorite books across 21 categories, including “best fiction,” “best mystery & thriller,” and “best historical fiction.”

This is the tenth year that Goodreads has asked its users to vote on their favorite books. This year, there are repeat winners like Stephen King and Rick Riordan (who are tied for the most Goodreads Choice Awards at eight each), along with plenty of first-timers. Female authors overwhelmingly took home the most Goodreads Choice Awards, winning 17 of the 21 categories. Goodreads also added a special category this year, the Best of the Best, which honored readers’ absolute favorite book from the 170 titles that have won a Goodreads Choice Award during the last decade. Angie Thomas took home that top prize for The Hate U Give, which was just made into a movie.

Check out 10 of the winners in the biggest Goodreads Choice Awards categories below, and view the entire list on Goodreads.com.
