Disney Reveals When Everyone On Earth Will Be Seeing 'Star Wars: Episode IX,' 'Indiana Jones 5' And 'Frozen 2'
ByTom Bacon, writer at CREATORS.CO
I'm a film-and-TV fan who grew up with a deep love of superhero comics!
Only a few days ago, 20th Century Fox took the world by storm when they announced the release dates for next year's X-Men films. Now, Disney's just announced a major scheduling shuffle — and, along the way, the House of Mouse has given us a whole host of new release dates! From Star Wars: Episode IX to Frozen 2, we now have due dates. So, in order of release, here's what Disney has just revealed!
'Wreck-It-Ralph 2' - November 21st, 2018

The eagerly-awaited sequel to the much-loved #WreckItRalph, this sequel's been pushed back a little — from March 2018 to November 21st. It's hardly the most dramatic of this reshuffle.
'Star Wars: Episode IX' - May 24th, 2019

#StarWars has traditionally been associated with a May release date — the first Star Wars Celebration was set just a month before the release of The Phantom Menace. So fans were rather surprised to find Lucasfilm's recent releases slotted around Christmastime. Now, it looks as though that's set to change; we already knew that Han Solo: A Star Wars Story was due May 25th, 2018, and #StarWarsEpisodeIX is following suit with a May release date.
The grand finale of the third Star Wars trilogy, Episode IX is confirmed for May 24th, 2019. It looks as though Lucasfilm is setting a clear pattern: future Star Wars releases will likely release on Memorial Day weekends. So this year's The Last Jedi will be our last Star Wars cinematic Christmas present, while we can expect Star Wars Celebration to become even more exciting in future!
'The Lion King' - July 19th, 2019

Live-action remakes are all the rage at Disney, and Jon Favreau's #TheLionKing is one of the most eagerly-anticipated. And yet, The Lion King is also the strangest live-action remake to date; after all, unlike The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, it literally has no human characters.
For all that's the case, this one's sure to be another hit, guaranteeing that 2019 is a winning year for Disney. Episode IX and The Lion King in the same year? And that's not all...
'Frozen 2' - November 27th, 2019
Finally! We have a release date for perhaps the most eagerly-anticipated animated film of all time. The first film released back in 2013, but you really wouldn't think the movie was three years old when you check out the range of merchandise still available! Can #Frozen2 possibly equal the first in terms of cultural impact? Will there be another song that takes the world by storm, until the composer winds up apologizing for it? Whatever the case may be — this is going to be a hit!
'Indiana Jones 5' Has Been Pushed Back - July 10th, 2020
Of course, Star Wars isn't the only Lucasfilm property — we already knew they're trying to breathe new life into the #IndianaJones franchise too! While #IndianaJones5 will still feature the return of Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford, but it's been pushed back a year to July 10th, 2020.
'Gigantic' - November 25th, 2020

Intended to be the definitive version of "Jack and the Beanstalk," #Gigantic is an animated musical/comedy that was originally set to release in November 2018. In the most dramatic part of this reshuffle, it's been moved all the way back to November 25th, 2020!
So there you have it, Disney fans! The House of Mouse is planning for the future, and it looks bright indeed. Star Wars is returning to its traditional May release pattern, and we finally have a release date for Frozen 2. And although Indiana Jones may be joining the party fashionably late, I'm sure that one's set to be a hit as well...
