This Airline Was Just Voted the Best in the World for the 4th Time

More than 20 million travelers voted in Skytrax's 2018 2018 World Airline Awards, and the clear winner for world's best airline was once again Singapore Airlines.


The awards ask respondents to rate a total of 335 airlines on a scale of one to five based on categories like cabin service, airport assistance, and onboard offerings. Singapore Airlines, which has ranked as the best airline in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards survey for a whopping 23 years in a row, took the top spot in Skytrax's rankings for the fourth time.

The airline also claimed the title for the best first class lounge and the business class lounge in Asia, the best first class and the best business class in Asia, the best premium economy class in Asia, and the world’s best first class and the world's best first class seat less than a year after it launched its new first class suites. The new suites feature sliding doors for privacy and custom lighting features.

Qatar Airways came in second, while also claiming the title for the world’s best business class and business class seat, the world’s best first class airline lounge, the best airline in the Middle East, the best business class and business class lounge in the Middle East, the best economy class in the Middle East, and the best cabin crew and airline cabin cleanliness in the Middle East.

The top 10 list for 2018 of the best airlines consisted of a variety of airlines from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. No U.S. carriers made it in the top 10.
