Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines announce new HGTV series

Chip and Joanna Gaines have a new Fixer Upper-based series coming to HGTV. Called Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, the half-hour-long companion project will give fans a peek behind the stars’ design process as they execute overhauls.

The first of the 15 episodes will air on Tuesday, April 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Like subsequent installments, the premiere is scheduled for just after the main Fixer Upper series.

Behind the Design will see Joanna meeting with homeowners to learn about their personal style preferences. She’ll then give viewers a look at how she makes her paint color, cabinet hardware, decorative accessories, and furnishing selections.

“I can’t wait to show our fans how every piece of the design comes together before the final reveal,” Joanna said in a statement. “I want to nail every detail so that, when we walk away, Chip and I know we’ve given a family the one-of-a-kind home of their dreams.”

“Jo puts her heart and soul into every fixer upper we design,” Chip remarked. “Our hope is that these homes become a beautiful part of each family’s next chapter.”
