Did You Know?

The use of an arrow, like U+2192.svg, to indicate direction on signage did not appear in use until the 18th century (with the arrow’s fletching being removed during the mid-to-late 19th century). The symbol appeared as an abstract evolution of the previous symbol, in use since the medieval era, of a painted hand pointing a finger (a manicule).

Packet Filtering

Packet Filtering (a.k.a. Static Packet Filtering) is a firewall technique for controlling network access that analyzes incoming and outgoing packets, then lets them pass or stops them based on the source and destination IP addresses associated with them.
