Delete WhatsApp Messages

How to Delete WhatsApp Messages

Sometimes you just want to delete a message from WhatsApp. Maybe it’s something private like a password, or maybe you’ve just said something incredibly embarrassing and you want to never see the offending message again. Whatever the reason, here’s how to do it.

I’m using iOS in this guide, but the process is the exact same on Android.

Open the WhatsApp Chat with the message you want to delete and long press on the message. A pop-up menu will appear.

Tap Delete and then select any other messages you want to delete by tapping them too.

When you’re done, tap the Trash can icon to delete the messages.

It’s important to note that deleting messages after they’ve been delivered only removes them from your phone. The recipient (or recipients in a group chat) will all still have them.
