Situs inversus is a rare medical condition, found in approximately 1 out of 10,000 people, wherein the major visceral organs (heart, lungs, etc.) are reversed or mirrored from their normal positions. Although patients can lead normal lives (often never knowing their organs are unusually placed), it does increase the chance of organ-related disorders like congenital heart disease.
