If you know anything about the game of football you know that the most easily identifiable player on any football team and the most valuable player to that team is the quarterback. He is the “field-general” who calls the plays, runs the offense, and is primarily responsible for whether or not his team scores points. That is why as you would expect in the NFL the highest paid position by far is quarterback.

Do you have any guess as to what the 2nd highest paid player in the NFL is and what position he plays? No, it isn’t running back. No. it isn’t wide-receiver. No, it isn’t even any player on the defense. The 2nd highest paid player in the NFL is the left offensive tackle.

Do you know why? Because, they protect the blind side of the quarterback, which is where the quarterback, and therefore the offense, and therefore the team is most vulnerable. Take any Super Bowl winning team of the last twenty years and any fan can name the quarterback, but the only one that can name the left tackle is his wife and his mother. Yet, he was a champion, because he played his part. When you play yours, you will stand before the God that made you Who will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
