When you love mercy you will live mercy. Do you know why living mercy and giving mercy is so important? The opposite of mercy is bitterness. There is something liberating about being merciful and about being good. There is something liberating about treating the lowest, the littlest and the least with kindness and with grace. St. Augustine once said, “He that is good is free though he be a slave; He that is evil is a slave though he be a king.” -Pastor Merritt

We are fond of saying, “God is good” or you can add an adjective to that “Only God is good.” Psalm 34:8 says,
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
If you are going to talk about good then you are going to have to talk about God, because without God there is no good. God is good and He wants us to be good. Remember? What makes fruit so good? It is good to us – it tastes good and it is good for us – it is nutritional. God wants you and me to live our lives in such a way that our lives will taste good to others – they will be drawn and attracted to us and it will also be good for others. As they get to know us and have relationships with us we can draw them to the same God that makes us fruitful.
