Morning Inspiration with Pastor Merritt
The only New Testament commentary on Joseph's trials reminds us:
"And the Patriarchs, jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt; but God was with him." (Acts 7:9)
In all of those tough times and all those time Joseph was getting what he didn't deserve, all those times he was taking life's worst shots and all those times life was most unfair, God was with Joseph.
If this is you, then let me give you this piece of advice. Look behind the clouds when the storms are gathering. When you think God is nowhere to be found in your life look behind the curtain and you can know that God is somewhere in the background directing you, protecting you, correcting you and perfecting you.
Joseph never quit believing God. Never quit living for God, never quit trusting God, never compromised his integrity, never lost his humility, never soiled his purity, never jeopardized his dignity, because he understood that behind the wrong there is always a right. There is no greater illustration of that than the cross of Jesus Christ. Even in the story of Jesus you see the right behind the wrong. What was the wrong? The cross. What was the right? The empty tomb. What was the result? The chance to be saved, to spend eternity with God and to have eternal life.
