Germany has long been ahead of the curve when it comes to groundbreaking feats of engineering, and the country’s latest design concept — a futuristic-looking train from the state-owned railway company, Deutsche Bahn — is no exception.
Unveiled in Nuremburg last week, “Ideenzug,” which translates to “Idea Train,” is set to revolutionize train travel (especially morning commutes) with its modern seating, tech-forward amenities (think: TV’s and gaming consoles), and work areas with kitchenettes.

Other noteworthy offerings include built-in tablet stands, noise-canceling chairs, swivel seats, a “play paradise” for kids, and — perhaps the coolest feature of them all — a fitness studio with exercise equipment and virtual trainers (so you’ll really have no excuse to skip that a.m. workout). The concept reminds us of Airbus' idea for a spinning class in a plane.
Designed to compete with the impending reality of self-driving cars, the Idea Train has been in the works for years.

And while it’s still in the development phase, we’re confident that good old German engineering will have those wheels turning in no time.
