Fri Inspiration

Morning Inspiration with Pastor Merritt

When God says for example, “I will remember your sins no more” it doesn’t mean that God all of a sudden comes up with a bad memory or He gets spiritual dementia. It simply means He no longer allows your past to affect your relationship to Him.

I heard about a man who went to see his doctor and he said, “Doctor, you’ve got to help me.” The doctor said, “What is wrong?” The man said, “I am suffering from amnesia. What do I do about it?” The doctor said, “Just go home and forget about it.”

Here is what you need to do. As you look back over your past, think about your mistakes, think about your failures, think about the things you didn’t do, things you should have done and the things you did you shouldn’t have done. Ask yourself what you can learn from those things and how can they make you a better person and then you move on.

Do you know how you can really know that you have forgotten what is behind you? When you can talk about it. When you can say, “Yes, I did fail here” or “I did make a mistake there, but this is what I learned from it. This is why I won’t ever do it again. This is how God used it in my life.”
