Sony is officially bringing back the Men in Black. The studio is moving forward with a spinoff of the alien franchise and has set a release date of May 19, 2019.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the untitled project has serious blockbuster credentials — Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who penned Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, are attached to write the script.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are reportedly not expected to reprise their roles as the titular men in black. Instead, the film is said to focus on a new set of agents and characters. A director has not yet been named.

The project will not be the previously anticipated crossover between 21 Jump Street and Men in Black, which would have seen Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill donning Smith and Jones’ suits as their characters from the undercover cop franchise. Though, that idea is reportedly still in development alongside this newly announced spin-off.
