Riddle of the Week: A Boat, a Brick, and a Tricky Question

Here's a nice short riddle for you this week, but one that might not have an obvious answer.

Problem

You are sitting in a rowboat on a small lake. You have a brick in your boat. You toss the brick out of your boat into the lake, where it quickly sinks to the bottom.

Does the water level rise slightly, lower slightly, or stay the same?

Think about the density of the brick.
