War Driving
War Driving refers to the act of driving around in a vehicle with a laptop computer and an 802.11 wireless LAN adapter set to promiscuous mode (to receive any packets within range) in order to find and exploit existing, unsecured wireless networks.
War Driving is done for the purpose of obtaining free Internet access/service or potentially gaining illegal access to an organization’s data.
