Why Some Apps Won't Work on iOS 11
Apps that don't update to 64-bit are getting left behind.

The new iOS 11 is coming out today, and if you update, you might notice that some of your apps no longer work. If you haven't updated yet, you can find out if you'll lose any of your current slate of applications when you do. Because iOS 11 no longer supports legacy 32-bit apps, there's just no way to use them on the latest operating system. At least not unless they get updated by whoever made them in the first place.
To find out what apps you have that won't make the jump (or already didn't make the jump) go to Settings > General > About > Applications on your iPhone, which will provide a list of incompatible programs. There's still a chance for them to come back if the developers make the right updates, but Apple has been bracing them for this moment for a while, and if they haven't already gotten ready for it, they might never.
If that's the case, these apps will just fail to load entirely on your updated phone. In most cases, however, there's probably an alternative to whatever's getting left behind. That, or you probably don't need it anyway.
