The Extremely Easy Way to See How Much Time You're Wasting on Your Phone
Who knew you spent three hours on Chrome in the last week alone?

We all waste time on our phones, but have you ever wondered exactly how much? A writer over at The Next Web figured out a simple, built-in way the iPhone lets you do just that.
Head to your Settings, then click on Battery. A list of apps will appear below with their respective percentages of battery usage for the last 24 hours or seven days. In the upper right hand corner, you'll find a clock icon. Click on that, and the time you spend using the apps will be added beneath their names. There's even a distinction between using the app on screen or running it in the background, so you can tell that you spent three hours listening to Podcasts even if your lockscreen was on the whole time.
You may be shocked to find which apps you spend the most time on. I personally have spent 2.7 hours in the last week on Chrome, probably because I use it from bed in the morning when I'm too lazy to grab my laptop (it's a hard life being a freelancer). As I'm traveling right now, I've also spent a decent amount of time wrangling the Airbnb app.
Some findings are less benign. I apparently spent 1.7 hours scrolling endlessly through Instagram. If you add up these time suckers with how much time you spend doing the same thing on your desktop or laptop, you're looking at a ton of time spent doing very, very little.
