Have you ever grabbed a piece of fruit to eat only to discover that it is rotten?  From a distance it looks good, but once you examine it closely, you see that it is beginning to go bad?  Maybe the outside is still okay, but you can feel it beginning to soften on the inside?  Or, have you ever seen a bowl full of fruit that looks so delicious that you wonder if it is real?  You just cannot tell, so finally you just have to reach out and touch it to see if it is fake or real fruit?

Space junk is a growing problem, and with the private space industry racing to make tourism in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) it will only become more pressing. The European Space Agency estimated in 2017 that there were 19,894 pieces of space junk circling the Earth, coming to a combined weight of least 8,135 tonnes. An international research project from Japan and Australia offers a new potential solution: an ion beam shepherd (IBS), a still-hypothetical contactless approach originally designed for asteroid deflection.

'Night School' & 'Smallfoot' Top Weekend, Capping Off a Strong September at the Box Office

Universal topped the weekend box office for the second weekend in a row, this time with the comedy Night School starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. At the same time Warner Bros.'s animated feature Smallfoot finished in the runner-up position while the studio's horror hit The Nun became the highest grossing international and worldwide release in the Conjuring universe. All-in-all the weekend top twelve fell a bit shy of Mojo's pre-weekend expectations but this weekend did provide more than enough in terms of box office receipts to help deliver the second largest September on record behind last year's record breaking grosses.

Coming into the 2018 Ryder Cup, I thought two of the 10 best players of all-time (Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson) would be a boon to an already-loaded U.S. side. As it turns out, I forgot to look at their career Ryder Cup records coming in was 31-37-10. It's now six worse as Woods lost four matches in Paris and Mickelson lost two. No golfers in history have lost more than Woods and Mickelson. They are now a combined 31-43-10 in Ryder Cups.
